Miris today emerged from stealth and revealed its technology which will bring spatial computing to streaming. It also announced it has raised $26 million in its seed round of funding, with IAG Capital Partners leading the round. The company plans to explore applications of its technology across a variety of enterprises, including entertainment and healthcare.

According to its founders, Miris’s technology solves a spatial computing problem by allowing for real-time streaming of spatial content without downloads. The company has patented this technology, which allows for a content delivery network for spatial content. In other words, consumers could access spatial content in the same way they do music, shows or movies without the need for storage.

Marlin Prager, Miris CEO, said in a statement, “The biggest tech and entertainment companies in the world are spending billions to grow the spatial computing market. Miris delivers the only complete solution to unblock spatial content’s delivery bottleneck and allow for consumer-facing spatial streaming, without sacrificing quality or experience.”

Joel Whitley, partner at IAG Capital Partners, added, “We believe that spatial computing will not see widespread adoption unless and until high fidelity, interactive spatial content can be delivered to consumers for easy consumption – via streaming. Miris and its team have solved this key problem with an elegant solution delivering spatial content at scale. This will enable the ‘pull-through’ for both spatial content and devices the market has been waiting for. Miris is the key to unlock spatial computing.”
